Our awareness approach
The awareness approach described here applies to our own events, such as die Teegesellschaft, the ropeXchange, the gay-BDSM.club, the Gentle Sins, and others. However, each event may have its own rules tailored to the specific mood and atmosphere. Therefore, please read the specific rules for each event. If nothing else is stated here, our rules can be found in our Kink Etiquette Guide.
Awareness is very important to us, and our approach is based on the following pillars:
Setting the framework:
As organizers, we have the opportunity to set clear rules, and we do so with our Kink Etiquette Guide and the polynormal spirit. These define fundamental principles such as consent, respect, safety, stop words, discretion, photo policy, and much more. Each participant accepts and commits to these rules by purchasing a ticket. Many people who do not identify with these rules will not attend at all, and if someone at our events violates these rules, we can evict them at any time.
Training and education:
Another component of our awareness policy is the training and education of our guests. Those who are new to our events, in particular, are specifically supported and have the opportunity to delve deeper into the topic through workshops and discussions. "Social learning," i.e., observing the actions of experienced participants, is also an important element.
Monitoring:
We have a trained awareness team on site who mingle with the participants. This way, they notice things early on and can observe situations or intervene before they become escalating. Many other experienced participants also have a keen eye and inform us or the team if they notice something. Be attentive, too.
Be there:
We're there in an emergency! Not only we and our awareness team, but every participant at our events is briefed that if the general stop word "Mayday" is used, immediate intervention and assistance will be provided. This allows you to end a situation immediately and unavoidably, thereby requesting help. This applies to all emergency situations and can also be used by the dominant person. You can also speak to any member of our team at any time, and we will help clarify the situation.
Record everything:
Did something happen to you? Maybe it wasn't exactly an emergency or particularly serious, but somehow strange and uncomfortable? Perhaps you only realized it after the event? No matter when, please contact us directly. There is no such thing as a false report, and every reported situation is examined individually and taken seriously. We can't undo the situation, but we can look into how we can prevent such situations in the future.
Feel free to contact us even after our event via our anonymous awareness email:
Develop measures and improve:
Even though we're already doing a lot, we're always trying to improve. Because the safety and well-being of all participants is the most important prerequisite for a successful event. That's why our team is trained in awareness, and with your feedback we can continually improve and include even more aspects.
